Création au gré de l’imagination, d’un recueil d’animaux étranges pour certains et familiers pour d’autres. Qui ne s’est jamais inventé d’histoires en voyant un animal ? Ces premières créatures prennent la pose et se laissent regarder. Elles interpellent, questionnent ou invitent au rêve.

En littérature, un bestiaire désigne un manuscrit (souvent du Moyen-Âge) regroupant des représentations animalières réelles ou imaginaires.
Mais chassés par la religion chrétienne interdisant les cultes et rituels païens célébrant les saisons, les astres ou la nature, ils furent remplacés par des animaux devenus esclaves et compagnons de l’homme.
Ceux-là, sans conteste, sont libres de tout maître.

The Bestiary of the Impossible.

Creation at the whim of the imagination, of a collection of strange animals for some and familiar for others. Who’s never made up a story when they saw an animal? These first creatures pose and let themselves be watched. They challenge, question or invite to dream.

In literature, a bestiary is a manuscript (often from the Middle Ages) containing real or imaginary animal representations.
But chased away by the Christian religion forbidding pagan cults and rituals celebrating the seasons, the stars or nature, they were replaced by animals that had become slaves and companions of man.
These, without a doubt, are free from any master.
